Sisters of Sion participate of Congress on Vatican II in Brazil.
The Sisters of Our Lady of Sion, apostolic and contemplative Sisters, and associates of Sion from Sergipe (Brazil) attended the “Congress Vatican II” on 30 April to 3 May, held at the Major Seminary of Our Lady of the Conception in Sergipe.
Sister Ivete Holtmam, a member of Sion Congregational Leadership Team participated in a round table, along with Father Videlson Teles, speaking on the theme of “Divine Revelation”.
Each participant chose a short course among the 12 offered during the congress on different decrees and statements of the Council Vatican II. Sister Irailde, NDS developed the short course on the Declaration Nostra Aetate (the Church and the non-Christian religions).
The event aimed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vatican II which had the theme “Challenges of Theology in Contemporary Society”. It was a time of great learning experienced by all the participants, 220 people from various Brazilian states.
