Br. Elio presents Seminar on Apocalyptic Literature.
Yesterday (March 23), there was the 4th Reshit Da’at Seminar at the Ratisbonne (Jerusalem). This time, Brother Elio Passeto, NDS presented the theme “Apocalyptic Literature and Christology”.
In his presentation, Brother Elio mentioned several biblical and extra-biblical passages (Enoch, Book of Jubilees, etc.) that allude to apocalyptic figures who assume different attributes, according to the text. Such attributes bear considerable similarity to those related to the figure of the New Testament Messiah, which leads one to believe that neo-testamentary authors had sufficient clarity and mastery of this apocalyptic language found in a rich literature that goes beyond the limits of canonical books.
The same seminar will continue on April 6th, opening space for clarification and discussion.
