Superior General of Brothers of Sion meets Pope Francis.
Brothers and Sisters of Sion attended the meeting of the Judeo-Christian International Fellowship on the 50th anniversary of Nostra Aetate document, making an evaluation and opening new challenges for dialogue between Jews and Christians.
“In the encounter or re-encounter of several Jewish and Christian friends, we had numerous major conferences and seminars in small groups”, the Superior General of the Brothers of Sion, Fr. Donizeti Ribeiro says.
In this meeting, Cardinal Koch and Rabbi Joseph Levi summarized the essential statements for Christians and Jews:
a) The Church’s relationship with the Jewish people is intrinsic;
b) Christianity is rooted in Judaism;
c) Christians and Jews can and should know better themselves in relation to the other. The common texts (Holy Scriptures) can and should be read in the light of Jewish and Christian tradition;
d) Created in the image and likeness of God, Jews and Christians can rediscover the Jewish-Christian values and to act together for the good of humanity.
In Audience with Pope Francis in Clement VII room, Fr. Donizeti Ribeiro had the opportunity to talk with the Pope and ask His blessing to all of Sion.
