Sr. Maureena talks on Jesus and Shabbat at Ratisbonne.
On this last Thursday, Sr. Maureena Fritz presented the theme “The Jewish Shabbat, Jesus and Early Christianity” during the Reshit Da’at Seminar that takes place every two weeks in the Ratisbonne (Jerusalem).
Sr. Maureena used both New Testament sources and apocryphal literature to show that Jesus, in addition to observing the Shabbat, never suggested that Sunday would be a day that would replace Shabbat. The sanctity and observance of the Shabbat is a divine mitzvah and should not be underestimated.
