Sister of Sion tells about 50th anniversary of Brazilian community.
Last Sunday, April 10, Santo Amaro das Brotas’ community (Brazil) celebrated a special Mass to commemorate the anniversary of 50 years of presence of Sisters of Sion in the city. The celebration was attended by the Sisters of Curitiba, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and Aracaju, in addition to Friends of Sion.
The blog FOS contacted Sr. Judite Mayer, NDS, who said the details of the celebration and a little about the community’s history. “What I have learnt from this celebration is that the speech might be beautiful; the words touch, but what really brings us together and make us disciples of Jesus is the living testimony of generosity and self-giving without excluding anyone […] It’s amazing to think that 50 years ago these women have done such wonderful things”, Sr. Mayer says.
